TEMPE, Ariz. -- Tempe police say one person was killed and four others were injured after their car was T-boned by a red-light runner.
Police said a green sedan was turning left onto Apache Boulevard from McClintock Drive at the green arrow when it was struck by a pickup truck.
A passenger in the sedan was killed, and the four other occupants were taken to the hospital with very serious injuries, according to police.
The driver of the pickup truck did not report injuries.
Ross Lopez said he was driving in front of the car that was T-boned.
"We got the green arrow, so I turned left and then I see the brown truck coming ... north on McClintock and noticed that he was going pretty fast," Lopez said. "I remember thinking ... I wonder if he's going to like slow down or something because if he does, then he's going to have to slam on his brakes. So, I sped up a little bit, just in case, and then I see him pass me, and then I look back and I see him hit that green car."
Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
