TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Tempe Police Department is asking for information from the public as they investigate a woman's murder.

Joann Rotz, 37, was found dead in a dirt lot in the area of 1100 E. Lemon St. in Tempe on Nov. 21. Police said she died from trauma to her upper body.

Rotz was known to have frequented the area. She did not have a known place of permanent residence and was often seen in the company of transient individuals, according to police.

Few details regarding her death are known at this time and police are looking for anyone who may have seen Rotz in the days leading up to the discovery of her body.

Anyone with any information related to her death is urged to call Tempe police at 480-350-8311 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect.
