TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Tempe Police Department’s Criminal Apprehension Surveillance Team has arrested a man for allegedly committing several armed robberies in the east Valley.
Gabriel Bedoy, 28, was apprehended on September 30 following an investigation that involved detectives from both the Tempe and Mesa police departments.
Bedoy is accused of robbing six stores in Tempe and Mesa between September 24 and September 28.
The businesses Bedoy reportedly targeted included two Subway restaurants, two Little Caesar’s locations, a gas station, and a convenience store.
According to authorities, Bedoy would carry a semi-automatic handgun into the stores and demand money from an employee. He would then flee the scene in a vehicle.
Bedoy was eventually located and arrested in the area of Longmore and Southern in Mesa while driving the vehicle used during the robberies.
Police said Bedoy admitted to the crimes during interviews with investigators.
“This successful joint investigation between Tempe and Mesa Police Departments exemplifies the importance and effectiveness of strong law enforcement partnerships,” said Tempe Police Chief Tom Ryff. “Wherever the crime is committed, wherever the suspects flee, police are working together, linked by technology, affiliation, and the determination to locate, arrest and hold criminals accountable.”
Bedoy was booked into the Tempe City Jail and is facing felony charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.
