SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Police in Surprise say 17-year-old Valley Vista High School football player Andrew Arellanes fell to his death from the bed of a pickup truck while playing the game Fugitive.

According to Sgt. Mike Donovan, those with Arellanes said they were playing the modern-day game of cops and robbers when the teen lost his balance and fell, fatally striking his head on the street of a quiet Surprise neighborhood near the high school.

Donovan said this is the first time he's heard of Fugitive and adds his department has no record of any other teens being injured or killed while playing the game.

Some of Arellanes' classmates said they're not fans of Fugitive, but they know others who enjoy playing with friends.

Matthew Koslovich, a freshman at Valley Vista, said some classmates are signing a contract, which states they'll no longer play Fugitive in honor of their fallen friend.
