WICKENBURG, Ariz. -- A teen was arrested Friday in connection with a Wickenburg High School bomb threat.

Wickenburg police said the 16-year-old boy, who has never attended the school, sent a message to the school's Facebook page Thursday night saying he would blow up the campus if a certain student was not expelled.

Wickenburg police were called about 8 p.m. They notified the family of the student named in the message, and searched the campus for suspicious items and people.

Officers maintained a presence on campus throughout the night and conducted another campus check Friday morning with help from school staff. It was determined to be secure.

The teen was taken into custody without incident about 9 a.m. Friday and a search warrant was served at two Phoenix area homes.

He was booked into the Durango Juvenile Detention Facility in Phoenix on a felony charge of interfering with an educational institution, and two misdemeanor charges of threats and intimidation and use of an electronic communication to terrify.
