PHOENIX -- A TSA agent based at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was reportedly fired after allowing two passengers to board international flights between Phoenix and London with weapons.

One passenger boarded the 10-hour flight with a knife, while another had a loaded handgun in his carry on bag, according to the U.K.'s Daily News.

Both incidents happened on June 22 and involved the same TSA agent, but were on separate flights to London, according to the report.

Security at London's Heathrow Airport discovered both weapons when the passengers attempted to board connecting flights. The man with the handgun had a criminal record, according to the Daily News' report.

While the TSA has not responded to 3TV's request for comment, several passengers boarding flights to London in Sky Harbor spoke with 3TV's Jason Volentine. Passengers said that they were confused as to how weapons could get through security and concerned about the potential safety of flights.
