Suspects sought in attempted armed robbery at Phoenix Lowe's

PHOENIX -- Police are searching for two suspects in an attempted armed robbery at a Phoenix Lowe's store.

Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, a man tried to leave the store at 30th Avenue and Thunderbird Road without paying for two welders, according to police.

When confronted by employees, he pointed a handgun at them and ran outside to the getaway car, described as a black, four-door sedan.

The suspect who entered the store is described as a 25-year-old Hispanic man with brown eyes and black hair. He appeared to be about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 130 pounds. He was wearing a black button-up shirt, black White Sox baseball cap and black jeans.

There is no description of the driver.
