SURPRISE, Ariz. -- A man suspected in a shooting in Surprise has been found hiding out at a relative's home in Las Vegas.

Surprise police identified Darren Crockett, 30, as the suspect who shot a 26-year-old man in the head in the area of 12700 W. Cottonwood St. on Aug. 5, leaving the victim in critical condition.

Crockett has been at-large since the time of the shooting.

Investigators learned of Crockett's whereabouts on Wednesday and coordinated his capture with Las Vegas law enforcement.

He is awaiting extradition to Arizona where he will be facing charges of attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
