SCOTTSDALE -- The Easter Bunny was out and about at Chaparral Park in Scottsdale Sunday, visiting some very special little ones.

It was an early holiday celebration for the families of some tiny survivors, premature and critically ill babies who beat the odds, and are now flourishing.

It was a day filled with dozens of little kids running around and grabbing Easter eggs. They are all former patients of the Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or NICU.

Emmitt Rauch is one the babies who was out there. He spent 79 days in the NICU.

"He is definitely our miracle baby," bragged his mother, Carla.

Ethan Cohen and his twin brother Noah spent several weeks in the NICU, as well. They were born just before the 30th week. Their father, Steven Cohen hopes to continue to come to the annual event.

"Its nice to see all the babies that you went through the experience with, and, the families and the nurses," he said. "The nurses, they are amazing over there."

The kids out here not only got to meet the Easter Bunny, but they also got to take home a ton of treasure-filled Easter eggs.
