HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (AP) -- Searchers are looking for a single-engine plane reported missing on a flight from Northern California to Arizona.

The Aeropro two-seat aircraft similar to the one pictures above lifted off from Half Moon Bay, which is about 25 miles south of San Franciso, before dawn on Monday.

The pilot's wife reported him missing after the plane failed to arrive at Marana Regional Airport in Tucson.

FAA spokesman Ian Gregor tells the San Jose Mercury News that searches in the Half Moon Bay and Tucson areas failed to find any trace of the plane.

The Virginia-based Air Force Rescue Coordination Center confirms that it is looking for the aircraft. There was no other information on Monday night.

The name of the pilot hasn't been released.

Half Moon Bay is about 752 miles from Tucson, which puts the estimated flight time at slightly less than two hours.
