PHOENIX – Sheriff Joe is planning on sending his deputies out for another “crime suppression” operation soon.
Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies have arrested 77 undocumented immigrants this week and Sheriff Joe Arpaio says in a media release that this is “good reason for another crime suppression/illegal immigration operation to be conducted within the next two weeks.”
Four traffic stops and the discovery of a drop house by sheriff’s deputies this week resulted in the 77 arrests of illegal immigrants.
Sheriff Joe recently trained 900 of his deputies on how to detect and arrest illegal immigrants. The new training program came about after the sheriff and his deputies were stripped of their authority to act as federal immigration agents.
