PHOENIX – An Arizona state lawmaker may soon be the center of an ethics investigation due to the fallout from the Fiesta Bowl scandal.
According to the Arizona Guardian, Republican Sen. Ron Gould said he is investigating whether to file an ethics complaint against State Senate President Russell Pearce for taking gifts and campaign contributions from the Fiesta Bowl.
That information was found in a report released this week that resulted in the firing of Fiesta Bowl CEO John Junker. He was let go for his alleged financial misconduct.
Four other Arizona state senators have filed amended disclosure reports that indicate they received gifts from the Fiesta Bowl.
The reports were filed by Sens. John McComish, Paula Aboud, Robert Meza and Steve Gallardo.
