LUKEVILLE, Ariz. -- A pair of Scottsdale residents are facing criminal charges for allegedly trying to bring marijuana into southern Arizona.

Kent Edward Raley, 60, and Robyn Michelle Mayhan, 45, were arrested Wednesday after close to 47 pounds of pot were found inside ice chests packed with seafood.

Raley and Mayhan’s troubles began when U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Lukeville Port of Entry searched Mayhan’s SUV. Inside the vehicle officers found 25 packages of marijuana worth an estimated $23,000.

Mayhan’s vehicle and the drugs were processed for seizure. Raley and Mayhan were turned over to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for prosecution.
