SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Scottsdale police are investigating a robbery at BMO Harris Bank near Scottsdale and Deer Valley roads.
Sgt. Mark Clark said witnesses reported that two males went into the bank at around 12:30 p.m. Monday, brandished firearms and ordered the tellers to give them money.
Clark said no shots were fired, but the employees and customers were threatened with the guns.
The suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
A customer told police that he saw the two suspects fleeing east in a blue Ford Taurus.
Approximately 10 minutes later, police received a report of a vehicle on fire in a parking lot east of the bank.
Police believe the suspects abandoned the Taurus and set it on fire then fled in another unknown vehicle. The fire was quickly put out by Scottsdale firefighters.
Police said the suspects' race and age are unknown. They were wearing hoodies and ski masks.
Clark said the Taurus was stolen at gunpoint from a victim in Surprise Monday morning.
Police were not able to locate the suspects.
