PHOENIX -- If you didn’t get any rain in your backyard over the past two days, Wednesday could be your lucky day. Another round of monsoon thunderstorms is expected to fire off, beginning in the mountains.

Any outflows from thunderstorms that develop in the higher elevations have the potential to trigger additional storms in the Valley. The main threats will be heavy rain, flash flooding, strong winds and dangerous lightning. The best chances for Valley storms will be between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Those who have the best chance of seeing locally heavy rain will be Cocnino, Yavapai, northern Gila and southern Navajo counties. There’s also the possibility of a few strong to severe storms rocking portions of the White Mountains and the eastern Rim Country.

Monsoon moisture will remain over Arizona with a chance of storms each day through the weekend.

As for Valley temperatures, we’re expecting high’s in the low 100s. Phoenix could see a high of 103 Wednesday with high humidity.
