TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- A big-rig driver allegedly was looking at cellphone photos of women when he crashed into emergency vehicles on a Yuma County freeway. Authorities say the May 6 crash killed an Arizona Department of Public Safety officer.
The Arizona Daily Star says it obtained records of the crash from the DPS via a public records request.
Officer Tim Huffman was killed in his patrol vehicle when it was struck as he was writing a report at an Interstate 8 accident site.
Jorge Espinoza of Yuma has pleaded not guilty to 20 felony charges including one count of second-degree murder.
Records show Espinoza was driving 65 mph with cruise control on when the crash occurred. He reportedly told police he never uses his phone while driving because it's against company policy.
