PHOENIX -- A forecast predicting a 100 percent chance of rain Saturday has forced CityScape in downtown Phoenix to cancel its Mardi Gras party, a according to a statement.
The planned outdoor parade and festival will not take place, the statement said, but restaurants and bars will continue with their own scheduled events.
The party would have kicked off at 3 p.m. and featured face painting, beads, a DJ and parties for people 21 and older. The parade would have begun at 4 p.m. on Central Avenue.
Restaurants like Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails and Lucky Strike Lanes and Gypsy Bar will still hold their Mardi Gras-themed parties.
