PHOENIX -- The number of monsoon storms will be on the downswing over the next several days as some drier air settles across much of Arizona.
While we have a slight chance for thunderstorms Monday night, after that, it looks like the moisture will exit for the rest of the week. By the weekend, there are signs thunderstorms will return to the Valley.
Tuesday through Sunday there will be a dramatic decrease the amount of convection across the area. The focus for any precipitation should be in the mountains east of Phoenix through the middle of the week.
With drier air working into the area mid-week, temps will likely take a run into the 105-110 range across the deserts. The monsoon moisture won’t be terribly far away so the moisture could return pretty quickly at any time. In the meantime, we’re going to downplay the chance for Valley thunderstorms through Friday.
