PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- A Prescott doctor was put back behind bars after being accused of prescription fraud.
Dr. Randy Joe Spicer, 39, was arrested Wednesday on multiple drug charges, including obtaining a narcotic drug by fraud and administering a narcotic drug.
The Yavapai County Prescription Drug Task Force had been investigating Spicer for allegedly prescribing narcotic medication for non-medical related reasons.
Authorities reportedly witnessed several violations during their investigation, including Spicer’s alleged deal to profit off medications he deliberately prescribed to be resold on the street.
Spicer was recently arrested by Prescott Police for an unrelated crime, and was released from jail on bond within the last month. Since being released, police say Spicer has continued to violate the law with his medical practice.
Spicer was booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on $65,000 bond.
