PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) -- Two Prescott Valley boys are facing criminal charges after they allegedly set a fire on a dare.
The Daily Courier reports firefighters on Tuesday morning put out a small wildland fire that grew to about a quarter-acre.
Prescott Valley police say a 9-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy will be charged with arson and criminal damage.
Police say one boy dared the other to light some dry grass on fire. The grass happened to be in a gas line easement.
They say windy conditions fueled the fire, which damaged fences bordering three properties and a wooden deck of another home.
