PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Fire Department was called to the area of 60th Street and Bell Road Friday afternoon after a swarm of bees was reported.

The bees were swarming in the attic space of a townhouse near 59th Street and Aire Libre Avenue.

A letter carrier was stung multiple times while on his route. Firefighters say the man was stung possibly up to 100 times. He was taken to a local hospital where he is recovering.

Firefighters sprayed foam on the beehive.
