The Phoenix Firebird helicopter was searching for the suspects from the air over 59th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
Aerial video from the Fort McDowell Casino News Chopper showed squad cars from Phoenix and Glendale. Officers appeared to be talking to somebody in the back of one of those cars.
The home invasion reportedly occurred at about 7 a.m. in the area 70th Avenue and Bell Road near Arrowhead Towne Center.
Between two and four armed men broke in, triggering an alarm that summoned police. Three adults and two infants were home at the time. Police said they found a woman restrained inside the home.
Aerial video showed several squad cars and a SWAT unit on the scene.
Officer Tracey Breeden of the Glendale Police Department said one of the victims was able to point out one of the suspects, who immediately jumped into a red four-door sedan and fled the scene.
Police are still searching for that suspect and possibly another.
The two suspects who are in custody have been identified as 24-year-old Phoenix resident Antonio Yanez and 44-year-old Phoenix resident Arthur Meeds. They are facing an armed robbery charges.
The pilot from the Phoenix Firebird helicopter said two suspects were caught scrambling though a wash. Police later said they confirmed that the two were involved in the home invasion.
A bank robbery was reported not far from the home invasion scene, but it's not clear if the two incidents are connected.
The suspect who fled in the red sedan is described as a mixed-race male, possibly black or Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a heavy-set build, Afro hair style and light beard.
