CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Police in Chandler are asking for the public’s help in finding a man suspected of stabbing his ex-girlfriend.

Early Saturday morning, 21-year-old Sabrina Espanio went to visit her ex, Victor Jacome, 18, at his home near Elliot and Dobson roads.

Espanio decided to leave the house just after 5 a.m., which is when Jacome allegedly stabbed her several times in the back. Jacome chased after Espanio, but a man, possibly Jacome’s brother, stopped Jacome and allowed Espanio to flee the scene.

Espanio ran to a Circle K where she called for help. She was taken to a local hospital where she underwent surgery for her wounds. Her injuries are not life threatening, and she is currently recovering.

Officers responded to Jacome’s home, but no one answered the door. Police made several calls into the house, and just before they were about to enter the residence a man walked out.

The individual has not yet been identified, but police said he was not the suspect and didn’t appear to have any involvement in the case.

Jacome was not at the house, and has yet to be located. Anyone with any information is being asked to call the Chandler Police Department at 480-782-4130.
