PHOENIX -- Police have arrested a man suspected of robbing two convenience stores early Sunday morning.

According to authorities, 20-year-old Justin Risner entered a Circle K at 20202 N. 7th Avenue just after 4 a.m. wearing a mask and carrying a handgun.

Risner reportedly demanded money and then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Approximately 15 minutes later, Risner walked into an AM/PM at 3501 W. Peoria Avenue and once again demanded money from the cashier.

Risner reportedly fled the AM/PM in a silver car, which was eventually located by police just west of 35th Avenue and Cactus.

Risner was sleeping in the vehicle at the time, but woke up and fled on foot before he could be arrested.

Officers set up a perimeter and arrested Risner a short time later.

A weapon, mask, and cash were subsequently found in Risner’s vehicle.

He’s now facing armed robbery charges.
