PHOENIX -- Another round of Monsoon storms rolled through the Valley Sunday evening and early Monday morning.

The weather brought strong wind, thunder, lightning, rain and hail.

There were reports of property damage, power outages and some minor street flooding.

A large tree came down at an apartment complex in Mesa near University and Val Vista drives.

As the sun was setting, a huge wall of dust came through Chandler. People driving on the Loop 202 had to slow down because visibility dropped to less than one mile.

"It's so funny because yesterday it was 108 degrees outside and completely scorching hot and today it's just like rainy and stormy," said Ashley Emans.

There were no reports of any injuries from the storms.

Thunderstorms cause scattered damage, capsize boat

PHOENIX (AP) -- Thunderstorms hit the Phoenix area, causing scattered damage and capsizing a boat but apparently not causing any injuries.

A downed power line downed Sunday evening interrupted power to 500 customers in north Phoenix while 100 customers in Tempe also lost power. There also were reports of minor street flooding.

Three people on a boat that capsized on Lake Pleasant made it to shore and a fourth person was rescued unharmed.

Blowing dust was reported in Apache Junction and Chandler and to the south in the Eloy area.

The National Weather Service says a combination of a low-pressure area approaching from the northwest and increasing moisture from the south will likely produce more thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday.
