PHOENIX -- Monday is day 31 of no rain in Phoenix. The last measurable precipitation was back on December 20, 2013. That’s not that unusual of a stretch for, say, fall or spring around the Valley, but it’s pretty unusual in the middle of winter.

In Flagstaff, it’s day 30 without snow, tying for the 5th longest winter dry streak in Flagstaff weather history. The longest winter stretch without snow in Flagstaff during the winter months was 39 days, and was set beginning December 1, 1917. There is a slight chance for snow late week in northern Arizona, but the changes are minimal, and we think the streak will continue.

So, no major changes are expected this week. Dry weather will continue to be the norm with temperatures statewide averaging above normal for this time of year. In the Valley, that means highs in the 70s.
