PHOENIX – Phoenix police have arrested a suspect in the sexual assault of an 89-year-old woman.
Sgt. Steve Martos said DNA at the scene linked Angel Flores, 21, to the assault, which occurred more than a year ago.
Police said a man forced his way into the victim's home near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road after she answered a knock at her door on April 14, 2013.
Police released a composite sketch after the incident and described the suspect as a Hispanic male, 35 years old, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 130 to 135 pounds with dark hair, dark eyes and large stud earrings in both ears.
Police arrested Flores on Wednesday.
"He denied involvement, knowing the victim or ever being in the home," Martos said in an email to 3TV.
Flores was booked for sexual assault, kidnapping and burglary.
