Phoenix man pleads not guilty after infant son dies in hot car

PHOENIX – A Phoenix man whose infant son died after being left in a hot car pleaded not guilty Monday morning.

Daniel Gray, 31, is charged with manslaughter and child abuse.

Three-month-old Jamison Gray died Aug. 28 when the outside temperature was around 100 degrees. According to court paperwork, doctors said Jamison's core temperature was 107 degrees.

According to police, Gray went inside the sports bar where he worked as a kitchen manager and left his son in the car.

Police said Gray also went outside and smoked marijuana with a co-worker next to his car.

Court paperwork states that Gray's car was parked outside the bar for about three hours.

His next court date is Oct. 29.
