PEORIA, Ariz. -- Peoria police said they've arrested two men suspected of robbing a woman in her garage and then attempting to use her debit card at a convenience store.

According to police, 26-year-old Brandon Mitchell and 46-year-old Roger Burton were arrested on Friday night.

Authorities said they were able to arrest the pair after receiving a few helpful tips.

Burton and Mitchell are now facing charges of armed robbery and fraudulent use of a credit card.

On the night of June 7, police said a woman returned to her home in the area of 75th Avenue and Mountain View Road after visiting a bank several miles away.

The woman parked in her garage, but as she was about to walk into her house a man walked into the garage, pointed a gun at her, and demanded her purse.

The woman gave the man her purse and he fled the scene.

Approximately 30 minutes later, police said someone tried to use the woman’s debit card at a convenience store near 59th Avenue and Camelback Road.

Surveillance cameras in the store captured Mitchell and Burton, along with the vehicle they were driving.

Police said they believe Burton and Mitchell had been watching ATMs and decided to rob the woman after seeing her take money out.
