PHOENIX – A pack of coyotes is on the loose in the Paradise Valley area.

More than a dozen coyotes have been roaming the residential area of 52nd Street and Shea Boulevard.

The pack is living in a wash that runs along a golf course.

Dead animals have been found in the area.

A wildlife specialist trapped one of the coyotes Wednesday morning.

Residents are becoming more concerned now that these wild animals are breeding and producing pups behind their houses, according to Joe DeWolf with LoneWolf Wildlife & Pest Specialist.

DeWolf said this particular neighborhood has seen a boom in the coyote population.

"Now you're not dealing with one or two coyotes, but you're dealing with the chance that your dog might be taken by 15 different coyotes," DeWolf said.

He hopes to catch most of the pack over a few weeks and give his client and the neighborhood some peace of mind.
