PHOENIX – Police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect who allegedly stole a bag of cash from a Wal-Mart store in Phoenix.

The theft occurred at a Wal-Mart near Bethany Home Road and 35th Avenue at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 17.

According to police, the suspect was at the customer service desk and asked an employee to borrow a phone. The employee had a bank bag that contained cash.

While the employee was preoccupied getting the phone for him, the suspect grabbed the bank bag from the employee's hand and fled the store.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20 years old, 6 feet tall, 170 pounds with short brown hair.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or silentwitness.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the suspect.
