PHOENIX -- Police arrested a 30-year-old man after he allegedly grabbed and inappropriately touched a 3-year-old girl in the front yard of a Phoenix home.
Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos said officers responded to an attempted kidnapping near McDowell Road and 18th Street just before 5 p.m. Thursday.
Martos said the victim and her 1-year-old sibling were playing in the fenced front yard of their grandmother's home. Their grandmother was on the phone inside the home but kept watch of the children.
While on the phone, the grandmother saw a man grab and inappropriately touch the 3-year-old. She went outside and confronted the man, who then fled on foot into the neighborhood.
Officers were given a description of the suspect and they quickly apprehended him as he attempted to flee.
He was identified as Raul Isaac Molina.
Detectives interviewed Molina and said he admitted his involvement in the incident.
Molina was booked on child molestation, attempted kidnapping and criminal trespassing.
