GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Police said a pedestrian was hit by a car that apparently ran a red light at a Glendale intersection Tuesday afternoon.
According to Tracey Breeden with the Glendale Police Department, it appears the car was traveling westbound on Camelback Road when the female driver ran a red light at 75th Avenue and hit a northbound vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the vehicle that ran the red light was propelled toward a street corner where it hit a woman who was standing with her child then veered into a canal.
Breeden said the child was not struck.
The two women were transported to a hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
The other driver was not injured.
