GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A man was killed in a car crash in Glendale early Sunday morning.
At 2:55 a.m., Glendale police responded to a report of a collision at Grand and Northern avenues.
According to police, Jorge Gallardo, a Glendale resident in his 20s, was driving northwest on Grand Avenue. When he entered the intersection at Northern Avenue, he was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
The eastbound vehicle was driven by Glendale resident Frankie Mendoza, who is in his late teens, police said.
Gallardo was found trapped in his vehicle with life-threatening injuries. He was extricated and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The collision is still under investigation, but police said speed and impairment could be factors.
