PHOENIX --Investigators are looking into an early morning fire at a commercial garage.

Firefighters did not find what they expected when they responded to the area of 19th and Glendale avenues shortly after 6 a.m. Friday.

"The fire originally was called in as a house fire, but when crews arrived on scene they found a commercial garage used for automotive purposes," Phoenix fire Capt. Ruben Saavedra said in an email to media outlets.

While crews were able to get things under control relatively quickly, there were several things working against them.

"Multiple chain link fences, wrong initial address and long hose line deployments were some obstacles these firefighters overcame to extinguish the fire," according to Saavedra.

Crews contained the flames to the back portion of a single building. The fire burned a hole through the roof. Firefighters also cut into the roof to vent the smoke.

Nobody was on the property when the fire started.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
