NOGALES, Ariz. – Customs and Border Protection officers in Nogales arrested a 21-year-old man after finding methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine in his vehicle on Thursday.

Luis Alberto Chavez-Felix from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, was selected for a secondary inspection when he attempted to enter the United States at the Dennis DeConcini crossing.

A CBP narcotics detection canine was used to help officers find 20 packages containing a mixture of hard drugs consisting of more than 18.6 pounds of heroin, worth nearly $263,000; more than 6 pounds of cocaine, valued at more than $65,000; and more than 5 pounds of meth, worth an estimated $16,000.

Officers processed the vehicle and drugs for seizure and referred Chavez to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
