PHOENIX -- It looks like our chances for rain and snow in Arizona on the last day of the year is growing.
In metro Phoenix, we’re expecting isolated showers throughout Monday with temperatures only in the 50s. In the mountains, expect widely scattered rain and snow showers, depending on your elevation.
Right now, we’re not expecting major accumulations of rain and snow with the possible exception of eastern and southeastern Arizona. That’s where it seems much of the moisture from this storm is headed.
And although it won’t be official until Monday night, it looks like 2012 will be the third warmest year on record for Phoenix. Weather records here go back to 1895.
Also, we’re headed toward the 16th driest year. But we do have that little storm to deal with on New Year’s Eve!
