PHOENIX -- The Valley man infamously known as the “naked carjacker” will be spending the next several years behind bars.

John Brigham, 46, was sentenced on Friday to 8.5 years in prison and five years of probation for robbery, theft of means of transportation, aggravated assault, and three counts of endangerment.

Brigham was arrested in June of last year after causing a wild scene on the streets of Scottsdale.

The incident began when Brigham got into a car accident at Hayden and Via de Ventura. He proceeded to take off all of his clothes and then jumped onto one of the vehicles involved in the accident and started chanting and screaming.

Brigham then forced a woman out of her vehicle and started driving that car down Shea Boulevard.

He caused a second accident when he crossed over into oncoming traffic.

Brigham tried to force his way into three more vehicles before he was eventually arrested.

Seven people were injured by Brigham’s behavior, including a pregnant woman who needed surgery after breaking both of her legs.

A toxicology screening would later reveal that Brigham had PCP in his system.
