PHOENIX -- Sunny and rather humid conditions are expected to continue around the Valley to finish out the week.

Gradually, we’ll see humidity levels come down for the weekend but it won’t be super dry.

The monsoon is kicking up a few storms in southern and eastern Arizona today. For the most part, those storms are very short-lived in nature, so we’re not anticipating any rain issues for metro Phoenix.

Highs for the next several days will be in the 100-105 range, which is about average for this time of year.

Models are in good agreement that the summertime subtropical high will park over our forecast area for the weekend. The flow aloft will become weakly northwest with prevailing westerly flow in the lower levels.

This will result in a distinct drying trend with any moisture capable of supporting organized convection shunted to the southeastern part of the state and into New Mexico. Precipitation chances will be very limited over the weekend and into next week.
