PHOENIX -- A woman accused of tying a child up in a blanket while working at a Mesa preschool pleaded not guilty in the case.

Lauren Miller, 21, faces charges of child abuse and unlawful imprisonment. She entered her plea on Monday.

While working for Cholla Montessori near University Drive and Gilbert Road, Miller allegedly wrapped a 2-year-old child in a blanket so tight, the girl could not move or get out.

According to court documents, Miller told police that she wrapped the toddler in the blanket because she wanted to stop the girl from bothering other kids. Miller reportedly said she did not feel that restraining the girl was wrong.

The child didn't need any medical attention and was placed in the custody of her parents.

Miller is due back in court on Dec. 18.
