MESA, Ariz. – Police are searching for a man who stole oxycodone from a Mesa pharmacy Tuesday night.

Mesa police officers responded to a robbery at the Osco/Albertsons pharmacy near University and Val Vista drives at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Detective Steve Berry said the suspect entered the store and waited for customers to clear out of the pharmacy area. He then approached the pharmacist and handed over a demand note for oxycodone and cash.

Berry said the suspect simulated a weapon in his waistband, but no weapon was seen.

The pharmacist gave the suspect the oxycodone and he fled the store.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-30s, about 5 feet tall and 130 pounds. He was wearing jeans, a white shirt and a black baseball cap pulled down over his eyes. He was holding a white cloth over his face.
