MESA, Ariz. – Mesa police have released a photo of a homicide victim and are asking for the public's help to identify him as well as any potential suspects.
Police said the victim, who went by the names Francisco and/or Ignacio, was found dead at approximately 5:45 a.m. on March 27. He was found lying on the sidewalk next to a bicycle in the 200 block of South Barkley in Mesa.
Police said there were obvious signs of trauma to the body.
Detectives have not been able to positively identify the victim, who is described as a Hispanic man between the ages of 45 and 60. Police said he was known to frequent the area of South Barkley and once lived in the area.
Detectives are still trying to identify any suspects and possible witnesses in this case.
Anyone who was in the area in the early morning hours on March 27 and saw any suspicious activity or people is asked to call the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS to remain anonymous.
A cash reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest or indictment.
