MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- A Mesa man is in custody for allegedly abducting his former girlfriend, who's now married to someone else.
The victim escaped from a trailer two days later and ran to a business for help.
Mesa police say 31-year-old Christopher Kendal Bryant was arrested last Sunday.
They say emergency dispatchers received a call from a woman quietly saying she had been abducted in a car and needed help.
Police traced the owner of the cell phone. The woman later told authorities that she met Bryant at a residence on March 7.
She says Bryant drove her around in her car, telling her they were either going to get back together or they would both go to a "paradise" which he described as death.
It's unclear if Bryant has a lawyer.
