Medical helicopter goes down near Globe

GLOBE - A medical helicopter crashed on the San Carlos Indian Reservation during a training flight Wednesday evening.

A spokesperson for the Bureau of Indian Affairs told 3TV the Native Air medical helicopter went down around 7:30 p.m. The pilot reportedly lost control while trying to land.

Both of the people on board remain hospitalized with minor injuries. There were no patients aboard the helicopter.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating.

The helicopter had taken off from Williams Gateway Airport in Mesa.

The San Carlos Indian Reservation is about 60 miles east of Phoenix.
