GOLDEN VALLEY, Ariz. -- Mohave County authorities arrested two people after busting a marijuana grow operation in Golden Valley on Friday.

Acting on a tip, Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) detectives and Mohave County sheriff's deputies served a search warrant in the 1100 block of South Concho Road early Friday evening and discovered an active marijuana grow operation.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Trish Carter said the garage had been converted into a grow room. The area was equipped with lighting, a water system with timers and a cooling system. Authorities also found a smaller marijuana grow operation in the home.
Carter said more than 500 marijuana plants were seized and weapons were confiscated.

The deputies and detectives located plastic bags and a vacuum-sealing system. In addition, hashish and marijuana was packaged for sale. The packaged marijuana weighed approximately 28 pounds.
Michael Anthony Lozano, 23, and Kristina Lynn Pineda, 20, both of Golden Valley, were arrested on felony charges of produce marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of narcotic drug for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon during a drug offense.

This case remains under investigation.
