CHANDLER, Ariz. – A man with possible explosives robbed a Chandler bank Thursday morning, according to police.
The suspect entered the Bank of America at Elliot and Alma School roads shortly after 11 a.m. then approached the teller counter.
Police said he handed a teller a lengthy demand note and opened his flannel shirt to expose yellow wires, implying he had explosives on him.
The suspect acted distraught and upset while mumbling that he didn't want to do this, according to police.
The teller gave the suspect a known quantity of cash and he fled the bank.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s or early 40s, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, 175 pounds with receding brown/red hair and a mustache/goatee.
He was wearing a tan baseball hat, clear glasses, and a black and gray long-sleeve flannel shirt with a black undershirt.
Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the suspect's arrest and/or indictment.
