PHOENIX – Police are attempting to identify and locate a suspect who has stolen packages left at homes in Phoenix and Surprise.

According to police, a Hispanic male stole a delivered package from the front porch of a home in north Phoenix at approximately 1:15 p.m. on July 16. The suspect also stole a delivered package from a homeowner in Surprise.

Police released surveillance video of the two thefts but said there have been multiple victims from northeast Phoenix to Surprise.

"In the first instance that we have video of, it was about 25 minutes difference between when the package was dropped off and the suspect picked it up," said Sgt. Derek Elmore with Silent Witness. "In the second incident, it was almost four hours so that was a big span of time. To know that the package was there, that takes some organization."

Authorities believe the suspect may have had prior knowledge of the deliveries and may be working with another person to gain the delivery information that leads him to the victims' addresses.

"We believe that either this individual or a group of individuals are following the trucks, taking down the information of where packages are dropped and then coming back later," Elmore said.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, approximately 35 years old with black hair, a mustache and tattoos on both arms.

He was seen driving a dark-colored four-door sedan.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered. Contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or silentwitness.org with any information about the suspect.
