PHOENIX -- Phoenix police and the FBI are searching for a man in connection with three bank robberies Wednesday afternoon.

The first robbery was reported at 12:15 p.m. at Chase Bank inside the Fry's grocery store near Bell Road and Tatum Boulevard. Authorities believe the same man struck the Wells Fargo at that intersection about 30 minutes later.

The third robbery was reported at 1:13 p.m. at the Desert Schools Federal Credit Union near Seventh Street and Union Hills Drive.

The suspect is described as a 20- to 25-year-old black man between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a long-sleeve gray shirt, blue jeans and a Chicago Bulls baseball cap.

It is believed he fled in a red Dodge Neon or similar car driven by a woman. It had four doors, no window tint, and "Graphic-------.com" written in white on both sides.
