CHANDLER, Ariz. -- A man was shot after a fight escalated at a 7-Eleven store in Chandler Wednesday night, according to police.
It occurred on the southwest corner of Warner and Dobson roads.
Chandler police spokesman Sgt. Joe Favazzo said two customers were involved in an argument and it turned physical. One man pulled out a gun and pointed it at the other customer, who then pulled out his gun.
The first man fired one shot, striking the other man in the face. The shooter then left the store but later turned himself in to police.
Favazzo said Thursday morning that the shooter has not been arrested and is cooperating with police. His name has not been released, but Favazzo said he is a 34-year-old Chandler resident.
The man who was shot was transported to a hospital. Police have identified him as Kenneth Morrow, 39. He remains in the hospital, but Favazzo said his injuries were not life-threatening.
Detectives are reviewing video from surveillance cameras and the case remains under investigation.
