MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- A man has pleaded not guilty in the abduction of an 8-year-old girl who escaped minutes after a man forced her into a car while she was bicycling.
A Maricopa County Superior Court spokeswoman says 22-year-old Robert Curtis Milliron pleaded not guilty Thursday.
Charges against Milliron include kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Mesa police say the girl was able to slip away from her captor after he sped away from the abduction scene, drove down an alley in a neighborhood and crashed his car into brick wall.
Milliron is due back in court on Feb. 26.
